Sixth International conference on Acupuncture and Alternative Medicine 2013 , conducted by ATAMA (All Tamilnadu Acupuncture and Alternative Medical Association, Tamilnadu, India.) at Tirupur on 16th and 17th February 2013. Dr.P.Sivagnanam delivered lecture and practical training about Health Tips and Acupressure Tips to maintain good health even after retirement . More than 50 officials and Staff members participated. Dr's practical training about acupressure tips was well appreciated by the participants. Neck stiffness/ Spondylosis/ Back head ache/ Facial paralysis. Location: Keep your hand with the nail of the thumb up. Move your thumb up and back (away from the palm of your hand), this reveals a depression at the bottom of the thumb, called the "anatomic snuffbox" (between two tendons). Move your finger from the anatomic snuffbox along the side of your lower arm, until you feel a bone sticking out (about a thumb's width from it). LU-7 is located on that bone, in between the two tendons you feel there. You can press it with the nail of your thumb or index finger. Effects: Heals effects on the body of too much grief. Location: On the fourth toe, in the outer corner of the nail (so near the smallest toe). Acupuncture Point (GB-44) Loss of consciousness, good for insomnia, high blood pressure, headaches, and emotional agitation pain of the neck. This pressure point is an excellent point which act as acupressure point and reflexology point (Solar plexus point to breath). If any person become unconscious , immediately if we press this point he will get conscious. The solar plexus is the nerve center where stress is stored. When the solar plexus reflex point is pressed, it is as if all of the stress in the body is eliminated. This point can be easily stimulated by a tennis or golf ball. Location: The lowest point in the body, this point is located on the sole behind the ball of the foot in the depression formed when you clench your toes. Acupressure Point: K-1 This pressing is best for migraine headache. After pinching the tops and bottoms of your finger and thumb tips go back to each tip and pinch them again, this time squeezing from side to side. Again, apply pressure, a little discomfort is okay. But, it is important not to strain more. Tension headache. Press edge of the Thumb finger in both hands for 15 to 30 seconds. Repeat it to get relief . Location:On the radial side of the thumb.
